Air Monitoring and Testing

Federal and state regulations often require stationary industrial sources to obtain air permits and install emission control equipment sufficient to meet or maintain ambient and even regional air quality standards. Frequently, the facilities purchasing the control equipment or installing the monitoring system may desire or require a guarantee that the equipment meets performance standards or vendor warranty standards  Emissions testing, also known as source testing or stack sampling, is the recognized method for determining air emissions and determining source compliance.

Avogadro Environmental Corporation’s Air Monitoring and Testing Division has been conducting emission testing since 1995 for industry, municipalities, universities, pollution control vendors, CEMS service providers, and consultants.  Over time, Avogadro has developed an excellent reputation in the industry.  Our management is dedicated to meeting data quality objectives and providing accurate results within deadlines, resulting in high customer satisfaction and value.  We feel so strongly about our quality of the emission data we collect that we guarantee it!

Avogadro is one of less than 20 stack testing firms in the nation holding interim accreditation by the Stack Accreditation Council (STAC).

STAC is a not-for-profit organization comprised of  a diverse group of stack testing firms and individuals concerned about the quality of stack test data.  STAC has developed and administers a program to accredit stack testing companies to the ASTM D7036 competency standard.  This standard assesses the overall ability of a stack testing company to deliver data of a known and documented quality on a consistent basis regardless of the test method used.  This accreditation provides assurance to both our clients and regulatory authorities that we are providing them with accurate, reliable data.  In addition to our company accreditation through STAC, a majority of Avogadro’s testing staff has achieved Qualified Source Test Individual (QSTI) status. The QSTI program is sponsored by the Source Evaluation Society and promotes/recognizes the skill-development of individuals.

Avogadro has demonstrated expertise in the performance and management of a variety of complex projects including:

  • Compliance and Diagnostic Stationary Source Testing
  • Industrial Process Monitoring and Optimization
  • Pollution Control Equipment Evaluation
  • Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEMS) Audit Services
  • RACT, BACT and MACT Compliance Demonstration
  • HAP Sampling and Analysis/Air Toxics Characterization
  • Ambient Air Quality Monitoring
  • Opacity (Visible Emissions) Monitoring
  • Indoor Air Quality Testing
  • Industrial Hygiene Services
  • Compliance Assurance Monitoring (CAM) Testing
  • Extractive FTIR Monitoring
  • Landfill Gas Characterization
  • Greenhouse Gas Characterization

We  can perform both instrumental and wet chemistry sampling and analyses using state and EPA approved test methods. With five mobile laboratories, our air emission technicians and air quality scientists are prepared to conduct virtually any type of emissions test program including onsite gas chromatography, FTIR and mercury monitoring.

Our experienced and knowledgeable professionals have a thorough understanding of the process and testing variables that effect final test data. Hence, we are able to make critical observations both on-site and with the emission data after the report is documented. Additional services include the following: real-time optimization of control equipment, troubleshooting, recommendations for decreasing emissions, data and regulatory interpretations and agency contact, professional engineering and/or industrial hygiene certification.
